03.Storyboard/Script
Storyboard
In order to motivate our design ideas and guide us through the process of designing for our users, we created a storyboard/script that demonstrates certain important and useful features of the KinderTab. Having a storyboard/script greatly helped guided our design efforts and we found that it was much easier to plan for and create the video sketch because we had a storyboard/script to follow. The storyboard goes as follows:
Script
Teacher sees the tablet.
Column of kids who can't sit together: incompatible students.
Teachers redefine the list.
Create Groups of 4 command.
Pad notices all students are here: Full Attendance
Teacher: Ok class, today we're going to do a group activity! We're making buildings
out of legos.
Series of class doing the activity.
Chris is quiet, zoom into him.
Shows red yellow green.
Teacher talks to a group, show chris's bubble is blue.
Looks like group 3 is having a problem.
Walks over to Chris: How's your building coming along Chris?
Chris: Ben and Rob won't let me help and they called me weird.
Ben: No, Me and Rob are working together, we don't need Chris's help.
Teacher looks over to the kids: Ben and Rob, can you give Chris a few legos. Two of you guys can build something good, but
the three of you can make something amazing! Let Chris help you!
Rob: I guess. Here Chris.
Scenes of three students collaborating together.
Teacher: You two always get so loud. Teacher thinks that Ben and Rob causes disruption to class when they're together, so she records to separate them for future seating arrangements and groups.
Fade into the future...
Teacher: OK Kids it's circle time.
Everyone gathers around.
Teacher: Today we're going to read Rainbow Fish.
Holds up the book and read it.
Teacher: So what did we learn about?
Kids: Rainbow Fishies!
Kids: Pretty colors!
Teacher: Anything besides what the fish looked like?
Shannon: Sharing is good?
Teacher: Yes! (Notes good comment)
Kevin: I like sharing.
Skips to later in the day.
Teacher is at home. She goes over to the tab, notices that Roger, Tina and Shelly are not speaking much in class. Also notices that Gregory is talking a lot more than before, makes a note of it. (spikes amount he's speaking). Teacher to writes note to parent.
Teacher: Hmm, I see that Gregory is talking a lot more now. I should write a note to his parents on his improvement.
